Southeast Edmonton Real Estate Market
Southeast Edmonton Home Styles
Southeast Edmonton has plenty to offer Edmonton home buyers in terms of home style and price point. These include large luxury properties, front and rear detached single-family homes, duplexes, townhomes and apartment-style condos.
Newer homes built over the last then years tend to be the most common real estate option in Southwest Edmonton. Still, there are plenty of older, upgraded character properties to choose from – especially in areas closer to Southeast Central Edmonton.
Apartment-style condos in Southeast Edmonton can be found for as little as $75,000 and as much as $300,000 depending. Single-family homes are also broadly priced and can be purchased anywhere from the low 200s to the multi-millions. Even with the area’s many higher-priced luxury properties, Southeast Edmonton offers fantastic affordability and value.
Southeast Edmonton Communities
Southeast Edmonton is comprised of several larger districts, each hosting a variety of unique neighbourhoods. These include Decoteau, Ellerslie and The Meadows.
Decoteau is the newest district to be included in Southeast Edmonton, with its neighbourhoods still under development. Plans for the area include five communities in total, which will offer buyers a broad range of home styles and amenities. The site is also said to house Edmonton’s most extensive wetlands complex.

Commuting From Southeast Edmonton
Southeast Edmonton is bounded by several major thoroughfares. The most popular of these commuter roads include Calgary Trail/Gateway Boulevard/Hwy 2, which make commuting to downtown Edmonton and the Edmonton International Airport a breeze.
In addition, Whitemud Drive and the south Anthony Henday both transect this quadrant of the city, providing streamlined access to the greater City of Edmonton and surrounding areas.
While routes are still developing in Southeast Edmonton’s up-and-coming communities, transit remains incredibly accessible area’s more established neighbourhoods. The city’s future Valley LRT line is also planned for Southeast Edmonton, operating from Mill Woods to the West end.
