Central Edmonton Home Styles
Central Edmonton is home to an abundance of unique and varied home styles, suitable to working professionals, first-time buyers, growing families and everything in between. High and low-rise apartment-style condos are the predominant home style in Central Edmonton. Luxury condos and penthouses are also prevalent throughout, many offering exceptional views of downtown and the river valley landscape.
Despite the number of low-maintenance condos in Central Edmonton, the area is not without an abundance of single-family homes. These include upgraded pre and post WWII character homes (bungalows and two-story models on large lots) and numerous other detached dwellings of all sizes, styles and price points.

Due to Central Edmonton’s proximity to downtown, the Edmonton River Valley and countless city-centre amenities, prices tend to be slightly higher here than in other areas of the city- starting at approximately $500,000, on average. Central Edmonton Schools
Central Edmonton is home to several different schools, catering to all learning abilities, ages and educational preferences. These include Public schools, Catholic and other non-secular options, private institutions, daycares and more. Central Edmonton also houses two major post-secondary institutions, NAIT and MacEwan University. The University of Alberta also sits approximately 10 minutes drive to the south.
Commuting From Central Edmonton
As the city's chief business and professional hub, Central Edmonton remains easily accessible by transit, with countless routes and stops operating within the area. Both the Capital Line and Metro LRT lines operate daily, with several stations located throughout Central Edmonton neighbourhoods.
A number of major arterial roads also define Central Edmonton, including 97th Street (St. Albert Trail/Hwy 2), 82nd Street (Jasper Ave), 111th/112th Ave, Wayne Gretzky Drive, and 109th Street. Many of these thoroughfares provide a streamlined commute directly to the city centre as well as the great Edmonton area.
